How to Install WooCommerce

To install a free WooCommerce plugin, consider the below steps. There are two ways to install WooCommerce plugins. First, you can download it directly from the theme setup. To know more, see the image below.

For that navigate to Admin panel > Appearance > Theme setup

Secondly, you can download it directly from the admin panel in the plugin section.

Step 1: Navigate to admin panel > Plugins > Add new and find the WooCommerce plugin like below image.

Step 2: Click on the “Install Now”or “Update now” button and wait for installation or upgradation and auto activation.

Step 3: Once you have activated the WooCommerce plugin, you can now start creating your online shop page.

How to Setup Your Shop Page

This is a normal WooCommerce installation process. To start with a shop page for the first time, the Setup Wizard should run that permits you to set up your shop and also assign your shop page.

To locate Setup Wizard, just simply navigate to the Help menu on top right of the WooCommerce page, and choose the Setup Wizard from the menu at the top left side. See below image, to know more about it.

You can also assign the shop page manually. For that just navigate to the product tab. Follow these steps, WooCommerce > Settings > Products and select the main shop page.

Using this navigation path, you can also set up the remaining pages such as cart page, checkout page, my account page, and wishlist page under the advanced tab. To do this, follow this step.

How to Create Your Products

To create a product, consider below steps.

Step 1: Go to the Products > Add Product tab on your WP Admin sidebar.

Step 2: Enter the name of your product at the top of the page.

Step 3: Enter the product description text into the post content field which will display all the product information.

Step 4: Enter all the product details like price, SKU or shipping in the ‘Product Data’ box.

Step 5: Enter a short description that will display next to your main images in the ‘Product Short Description’ box.

Step 6: Set your main featured image under the ‘Product Image’ box on the right hand side. Please repeat the same process for each product.

Step 7: Insert more images in the ‘Product Gallery’ box to use a gallery of images.

Step 8: In the ‘Product Categories’ box, enter your product’s categories.

Step 9: Once you’ve entered all the necessary information as well as date, click on “Publish” button and the item will now appear on your main shop page. For more understanding, see below images.

How to Adjust WooCommerce Product Image Size Settings

You can also change the image sizes with WooCommerce. It includes the settings to change the size of product images for catalog images and single product images. Before adjusting product image size, make sure you consider the actual size of your images. After you change product image size, you also need to regenerate thumbnails which will affect pre-uploaded images to your site. To know more about the process, see the steps below for the details.

Note: After publishing your changes, new image sizes may not be shown until you regenerate thumbnails. You can do this from the tools section in WooCommerce or by using a plugin such as Regenerate Thumbnails.

Step 1: First, navigate to the admin panel > Appearance > Select “Customize”.

Step 2: Click on the ‘WooCommerce’ tab of the page.

Step 3: Where under the “Product Images”, you will find the Images setting for Single Product Images.

Step 4: Main image width option is for your images on the single product pages. Thumbnail width is for your products in catalog. Enter your desired width value.

Step 5: When you make changes to the images sizes and save it after that do not forget to regenerate thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.
